Google just released a new customizable background which reminds me of Bing’s background without the interactive hotspots.

A couple of reason why this sucks.

1. The clean, white-space background that Google has branded itself with is no longer there.
2. Google advertisements on their homepage is the ultimate ad spot. Now I can’t read the HTML text there.

1. I can upload my Picasa picture and look at myself every time I open Google
2. It’s another source to look at awesomely cool photos “editor’s picks”
