    Bing!

Nope, not Chandler Bing from Friends, but Microsoft’s new search engine. At first glance, the new tool, Bing recently released by Microsoft looks awesome. The interface is colorful with cycling beautiful images. There are also hot spots on the page where mousing over will give you brief facts (with links to learn more) of the image.

According to some, Bing is said to be a semantic search, but it doesn’t seem to have the same potential as Wolfram Alpha. Search results look similar to Google’s, with paid ads placed in similar spots, however, when you search for something like “Kobe Bryant” it does show a unique search result that would be more relevant to the user. In the race of the 3 major search engines, Microsoft’s Bing has overtaken Yahoo! gaining more ground than many would have expected. Dominating the market of searches, Google is still far ahead of the pack. At Bing’s growth rate, should Google be looking over their shoulder?

my initial test result shows that Bing is as good as Google when displaying relevant search results. Google might be having a tough competitor with Microsofts own search engine.

Microsoft Bing would be the closet competitor of Google. but i still use Google because it shows more relevant results on the serp.

i have been evaluating the search results of Microsoft Bing compared to Google and they are comparable. Bing gives almost the same relevant search results just like Google.

Now that Bing is teaming up with Yahoo, this is going to be interesting. Yahoo & MSN were never really was a threat to Google single handedly, but with the proposition they’ve made, the tide may turn. Could combining their technology, data and information to take out the Giant possible!?
